Marcelo Cruz, Foreign Language

Marcelo Cruz is a veritable rookie on the Dos Pueblos "force", having only been on board for a year, but that doesn't seem to have proven itself an obstacle for the wily Spanish teacher. An advisor to the Future Leaders of America, and a graduate from the both the City College and University of California at Santa Barbara, Mr. Cruz enjoys his job to the utmost."My favorite part about teaching is hanging out with teenagers. It's fun and interesting to watch their minds grow," commented Cruz about his job. He also mentioned his enjoyment in particular about the variability and diversity of his job. "I look forward to each day because I don't know what's going to happen," Mr. Cruz said, "everyday is different." When he isn't teaching, he's either catching a movie with his fiance or jamming on his guitar. The final words of wisdom Mr. Cruz imparted were completely in Spanish, fittingly: "No hoy que llegos primero, pero hay que saber llegar" which translates to "You don't have to get there first, just get there."
