Steve Beck: the man, the myth, the legend. But behind the soccer ball and the microscope lies the portrait of a more tender man, a man who grew up on the mean streets of San Diego. Hailing at DPHS for a commendable three and half years, he has risen to the helm of Boys Soccer Team, and has taken up consultant positions with the Anime and Environmental Clubs, not to mention balanced work along with the many responsibilities to his family with the recent addition of his newborn daughter. So when he isn't at school, it can be rest assured that you can most likely find him with his child. However, even in his free time school stays with him. When he isn't coaching sports, he is playing them, and when he isn't teaching out of books, he's reading them in his spare time.Even a younger, more impressionable Beck knew his career lay with teaching. "It was always in the back of my mind since high school," said Beck "After working several different types of jobs and after graduating college, I decided to give teaching a go. It was the best decision I ever made." Beck said in regards to his personal philosophy on life a simple but timeless motto "No pain, no gain."
